Five Really Good Books!

I love to read. However, since coming to college I have not been able read many books I want to read. I get have to read textbooks. Yippee.

When I was packing for college I decided to bring three of my favorite books with me. While I love Harry Potter and Eragon, those books are just way to big for my tiny dorm room.

Now you are like Robin, you've gone crazy, your title says five books, not three. Well since getting to college I have had to read two books for a Freshman Seminar class (numbers four and five), and both of them were quite awe inspiring.

Book Number One:

Book Number Two:

Book Number Three:

Book Number Four:

Book Number Five:

All five of these books are so good. I just can't put them into words. All of them make you realize how lucky you really are. That you could have it worse. They make you want to go out and help the world. They make you want to do things you could never see yourself doing, like going to Africa to dig a well, or go to Nepal to work with orphans.

I will warn you though, all five of these books will make you cry. At least a little. Hurt Go Happy was the worst. I was literally sobbing so hard I couldn't keep reading.

Having said that, I would still read all five of these book again.

Next time you are looking for a new book to read, give one of these a shot.

Have you read any of these books? Let me know in the comments!

Have a great day!

Lesson Learned...

Have you noticed that people normally only do blog posts and YouTube video tutorials on "At-Home-Hair" successes? I can't say I was very aware of the fact until my own "At-Home-Hair" DISASTER.

I had medium-long brown hair and decided I wanted to ombré dye it. I watched 1,867(ok maybe not that many) YouTube videos and read countless blog posts about "how easy it was" and "it is impossible to mess up."

So I went to the store, bought some hair dye, locked myself in the bathroom and did everything they said to do!

Well, I guess I did something wrong. Because I WAS NOT happy with my results. It was just so upsetting. I did not know what to do, because dying over it would have been difficult to find the right color, then I would have to deal with roots and I don't have the money or time to get my roots done all the time. (Hence, one-time ombré hair)

So, the next day I went to the hair dresser and had all of the blonde cut off. 6+ inches gone. Just like that. I was not happy with short hair either, but hey, at least it actually looked good.

I had spent 2 years growing out my hair and here I am, back at square one, but I learned my lesson. Only hair dressers should touch my hair.

I decided to post this so there is at least one post about hair disasters out there on the web.

Let me know about your "At-Home" hair experiences!

This is my hair about 2 months before the disaster. My hair grows quick (luckily) so it was about 2 inches longer. (and one side looks longer, but I think my head was crooked.)

(No pictures of my ombré disaster were taken, I didn't want  that recorded forever!)

My now short hair. It has grown about an inch since I got it cut. It doesn't look bad I just REALLY miss my long hair. Oh well.

Have a great day!

Swing Dancing:)

(Just a heads up, this post is a little late.)

Two weeks ago, my friends and I went swing dancing! It was a lot of fun!

My friend, Erin, is a dance major and she needed to go take a class to do a presentation on it. I must say I am very glad I tagged along!

While I wasn't very good at first, having never swing danced before, I caught on by the end of the night.

I don't have any pictures of us actually swing dancing, but since it was the "Valentine's Day Dance" they were offering free pictures! And college kids don't pass up anything that is free!

(And no, none of those boys were "My Valentine." My actual Valentine lives 4 hours away. Sadface.)

I must say, that night was definitely a great college experience!

I can't wait until we go again!

Have you ever been swing dancing? Let me know in the comments!

Have a great day!

Natalie Is Coming!!!!

Natalie and I circa 2010(?)

So Natalie and I go to school four hours apart and I miss her! And this year we have different Spring Breaks so we didn't think we would get to see each other, but...

Monday she told me she is coming to visit me during her break!!!! YAY!!!

I have to battle through two more weeks of school first, but it will be easier because I know she is coming!

We have a lot of catching up to do!

Have a great day!

So. Much. Work.

It seems that this week and the next is when all of my teachers decided they wanted to give tests and assignments. I have no less than 7 tests in the next week and a half.

Oh my...

This week started off a little rocky, but I'm finally getting back in the swing of things! (I better! It's already Wednesday)

However, with the rocky start behind me, I have some MAJOR work to do! I took two tests today, I'm glad they are out of the way! And I finished two study guides tonight. Now I am working tirelessly (well with a break to write a blog post) on Art History flashcards for next week's exam.

And that's just the tip of the iceberg...

I could make a list of everything I had to do, but that would just bore you, plus I'd be here all night!

My planner is really getting some loving! I have a to-do list for everyday until Sunday. And things are still getting added.

It's times like these where I wish I was back in elementary school without a care in the world, but then I remember what I'm working for.

These extra flash cards, and that extra study guide review might be just what it takes to make that A+.

I know that all of my hard work will lead me to Graduate School, even if it all seems futile at the moment.

Here is a piece of art... well architecture... from tonight's study session. Did you know that this Cathedral didn't have a dome for almost 150 years?! The roof just had an empty hole that let the rain right in!

Have you had a lot of work to do lately? Let me know in the comments:)

Have a great day!

Downton Abbey! Eep!

Many people are excited about the Super Bowl coming on tonight, I however am more concerned about the new episode of Downton Abbey.

That show could not be any more addicting. If you have not watched it, stop everything you are doing and go watch Season One.

I'm serious.

Anyhow, I cannot wait until 9:00 tonight to see what is new with the Crawleys.

Have a great evening!

25 Facts About Me!

A few of my favorite bloggers have done this post (like Zoella and Sprinkle of Glitter) and I thought since I am just starting out in blog-land, it would be a good "get-to-know-me" post! So lets get started:)
