Spring is Near!

I'll just put this out there: I HATE the cold weather! If I could be in the 70s every day, I would be a very happy person!

Erin and I were walking on campus today, and enjoying the semi-warm weather, and we saw another sign that the weather is making a turn for the better! Flowers!

I never have my camera with me, so I was really happy that I actually did for once so I could get this really great shot!

I hope that you are having some nice spring weather where you live too!

Easter Weekend Fun!

As you all probably know, this past weekend was Easter!

I had a day off of college, but going home was a bit too far for only a three day weekend, so I went home with my friend Erin, who lives much closer to the University!

It was really great to meet her family and go to church with her on Sunday morning!

On Friday night we did some "Easter-themed" baking!

I got both of the ideas off of Pinterest. What a wonderful website! Quite addicting actually.

The first thing we made was White Chocolate Covered Strawberries. But instead of leaving the white chocolate white, we dyed it orange with food coloring. This made the strawberries look like little carrots! So cute! After the chocolate dried a little bit, we used a toothpick to scrape lines to make them look a little bit more "carrot-like."

This picture is pre-lines, but I am so happy with the way they turned out!

The second thing we made were Cookie Nests. We made chocolate chip cookie dough and cooked them in a muffin tin. About a minute after they came out of the oven, we put three Cadbury's Mini Eggs in the top of each cookie. When you pushed the eggs in, it made the cookie look like a nest for the eggs!

Here is a nice action-shot while the cookies were still in the muffin tin.

All in all I am SO happy with the way our sweets turned out!

And a BIG thank-you to Erin for taking these pictures for me!

Comment and let me know if you try and make these cute spring treats!

Have a great day!

P.S. How cute is Erin's dog Nilla?
